At Cambridge-Ellis we believe that children construct knowledge and an understanding of their world by using open-ended materials, participating in hands-on activities, and interacting with classmates and teachers. This developmental approach to early childhood education celebrates individuality, self-expression, and creativity while fostering relationships among members of the community.
Teachers support young children's natural curiosity by designing indoor environments that encourage artistic, scientific, sensory, verbal, written, and mathematical expression. Each classroom offers a dramatic play area, two sensory tables, a large art area, and a cozy book area, and is equipped with large and small blocks, manipulatives, and games. Our outdoor play spaces are wonderful extensions of our indoor classrooms, where children develop their imaginations, strength, social skills and confidence.
